School bus in front, ambulance behind -- what do I do?
Q: What should a driver do if they are stopped for a school bus with it's red lights flashing, and an emergency vehicle comes up behind with it's lights and sirens on? -- Edward in Olympia A: "Well Edward, anytime something comes up behind you, like an emergency vehicle, and they need to get around, obviously, we want you to try and yield as much as you can and be safe for them. Moving to the right is what we typically recommend. But, if you're already at a full stop behind a school bus, and there's room for the emergency vehicle to get around, let them make the maneuver. Basically, we just want to make sure everyone is safe, and you want the law enforcement officer to be able to see that it is a bus, so that they know to watch for children too. Anything that you do, do it slowly and with caution, and make sure that nobody get hurt." -- Washington State Trooper Julie Judson
