Tacoma police need help ID'ing knife-wielding gas station robber
WANTED IN TACOMA -- Tacoma police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect who robbed the Shell gas station in the 5700 block of N. 26th St on Saturday, August 17th. A surveillance camera caught him brandishing a large knife. He held it to her throat and can be heard on the video saying, “Open it or I'm going to cut your ‘expletive’ head off.” The clerk pleaded with him not to rob the store but eventually agreed to give him the money as his threats escalated.
The suspect is described as white with brown hair, in his 50’s, approximately 6’3” and 200 lbs. He was wearing a dark blue shirt, dark blue pants, white tennis shoes and a beige baseball hat with a green bill. Video of him robbing the gas station will be featured on Washington’s Most Wanted Friday night. Detectives are hoping someone recognizes him or his voice and can identify him.
