Snow continued to fall across western Washington on Monday.

Crews are hitting the roads to make sure area roads stay maintained ahead of Tuesday morning.

Several districts are already reporting late starts for Tuesday due to snow and winter weather conditions.

3:30 p.m.: More snow on the way

Weather forecasts in western Washington point to more widespread snow showers developing after midnight.

More snow could arrive as temperatures drop below freezing in most spots.

Seattle weather: More lowland snow and icy roads Tuesday

A low pressure system parked offshore will continue to spin cold rain and snow showers on and off through Wednesday. Late Monday night into early Tuesday morning could give us a better chance for widespread snow accumulation.

11:45 a.m.: Drifting snow in Whatcom County

Whatcom County Public Works said just before noon that crews are on 24-hour shifts tackling priority snow routes. Officials asked anyone who could to stay off the roads to let workers do their jobs.

They said crews have seen widespread snow drifting Monday morning.

11:00 a.m.: Modified library hours

The King County Library System said some of its libraries will be on modified hours due to weather conditions. 

10:00 a.m.: Flight delays, cancelations at Sea-Tac Airport

Snow and icy conditions at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport caused more than 259 delays as of 3 p.m. Monday. There were also 96 flights into or out of Sea-Tac that were canceled. The majority of those flights were on Alaska Airlines, according to FlightAware.

SEA Airport had the most canceled flights Monday morning, followed by LAX, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Chicago O'Hare and Atlanta.

9:45 a.m.: Remember to give snowplows, deicers plenty of room

Snohomish County Public Works is asking the public to give snowplows and deicers plenty of room. 

"Allow a minimum following distance of 200 feet from plows and deicers while they work. If you must pass, take extreme caution and beware of the displaced snow and ice, or sand spray," officials posted on X. 

9:30 a.m.: Snow falls in Seattle on Monday

According to FOX 13 Seattle's Chief Meteorologist Brian MacMIllan, we could see more quick-hitting snow showers on Monday morning. 

What we know:

The heavier the showers, the better chance for some brief sticking (evening to the roads). A rain/snow mixed shower is expected Monday afternoon as temps warm into the upper 30s.

Tuesday morning’s commute will be similar to Monday morning (maybe worse). We could have an icy/snowy go.
