Seattle snow forecast: More lowland snow, icy roads Tuesday
SEATTLE - A low pressure system parked offshore will continue to spin cold rain and snow showers on and off through Wednesday. Late Monday night into early Tuesday morning could give us a better chance for widespread snow accumulation.
Here’s a breakdown:
Will it snow in Seattle tonight?
Models are hinting at a band of more widespread snow showers developing late tonight into Tuesday. Temperatures have been slow to cool, so some of the precipitation is falling as rain currently. As temperatures continue to fall overnight below freezing, it should change over to snow. While snow accumulation will be limited, a trace to 2" is possible for most of the greater Puget Sound area.

Snow showers are possible late Monday night into Tuesday morning in the Puget Sound area.
With accumulations overnight ranging between a trace to 2" around Puget Sound, another tricky morning commute is likely. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect till late morning Tuesday.

Slightly more accumulation is expected with spots nearing 2".
Fraser Valley outflow winds will continue to blow in Western Whatcom County, leading to very cold wind chills. School delays and cancelations are possible again Tuesday, with slick roads expected to start the day. The dangerous cold has prompted a Cold Weather Advisory to be issued for part of our region. Stay safe tonight!

Dangerous cold settling into Whatcom County with wind chill readings below 10 degrees.

Wind chills dropping into the single digits overnight.
TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Showers will become more limited on Tuesday afternoon. We may even see some sunshine in the mix. Highs will remain chilly, in the mid to upper 30s.
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON/ NIGHT
A similar scenario will replay with another chance of accumulating lowland snow. Scattered snow showers will accumulate in spots overnight, leading to another potentially slick Thursday morning commute.
THURSDAY AND BEYOND
The low pressure system will finally move out of the area to the east later this week, leading to drier conditions. Temperatures will slowly warm for Super Bowl weekend, but will remain about 10 degrees below average.

Expect chilly temperatures and more chances for lowland snow through Wednesday in Seattle. (FOX13 Seattle)
