13-year-old student struck by car outside middle school

PUYALLUP -- A 13-year-old Aylen Jr. High School student suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a car outside his school early Friday morning.

Police said the student was hit around 7 a.m. near the intersection of 16th Street SW and West Pioneer Street.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

Police are investigating the incident.
