20-year-old Tacoma man fatally shot from another car while driving in Parkland

TACOMA -- A 20-year-old Tacoma driver was gunned down from a passing car in Parkland in what investigators believe was a targeted shooting, Pierce County Sheriff's Department detective Ed Troyer said Tuesday.

Troyer added that witnesses had called 911 at about 9:45 p.m. Monday and reported seeing a white mid-sized sedan speed up to another car and open fire.

The victim, Daniel Mosley, who did not have a criminal record and had no weapon in the car, was struck in the head, Troyer said. His car then crashed into at least two parked cars and a mailbox before flipping over.

The shooting occurred at 112th Street South and 114th Street South in Parkland, Troyer said.

The sheriff's spokesman said investigators believe that it was an intentional shooting, but don't know if it was the result of road rage or if there was another motive.

Investigators are trying to find out where Mosley was before the shooting, Troyer said.

Mosley lived a few blocks from the shooting scene, he added.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
