Children at birthday party find eyeball outside of restaurant

GRESHAM, Ore. -- A group of children on a birthday party scavenger hunt found a vial with an eyeball inside of it just outside of an Oregon restaurant.

Gresham police told KPTV the eye was inside a medicine bottle in a parking lot near a Red Robin. Officials said it's a real eye, but they are unsure if it is human.

The children who made the strange discovery told restaurant employees who then called police.

"It just broke my heart,” Hancock told FOX 12 Oregon. “Because either way, if it was an animal or a person, it's just hard to think of how to feel. It was just so bizarre."

The eye was taken to the medical examiner to try to figure out who and where it came from.
