Command changes come to JBLM
JOINT BASE LEWIS- MCCHORD-- The 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division is getting a new leader Monday.
Col. Louis Zeisman will assume command of the Lancer Brigade from Lt. Col. Richard Edwards. Zeisman is a recent graduate of the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA. His most recent assignment was the Operations Officer for the Combined Joint Task Force 82, ISAF Regional Command in Afghanistan.
The command ceremony takes place at 3 p.m. at Lewis North.
Also, the 17th Fires Brigade will have a change of command ceremony on Watkins Field Monday at 11 a.m. Col. Ken Kamper, commander of the brigade, will relinquish command of the Thunderbolt Brigade to Col. Timothy Kehoe. Kamper has been serving as the 17th Fire Brigade Commander since December 8, 2010.
Kehoe is also a recent graduate of the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA. His most recent assignment was Deputy Commanding Officer, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division from 2009 to 2012. Kehoe has deployed in support of Operations Unified Response in Haiti and New Dawn in Iraq, all with the 82nd Airborne Division, based out of Fort Bragg, NC.
