Thurston County deputies are asking for the public's help in locating a teen who they say is "missing under suspicious circumstances."
16-year-old Gabriel Davies left his home in Olympia around 4 p.m. on Aug. 31 to attend football practice at Olympia High School, according to deputies.
Davies never arrived at practice and his vehicle was located about 14 miles from the high school near Tenino.
"Our deputies found a vehicle with items strewn about, a small amount of blood, inside the vehicle and a phone that had been shattered on the ground," said Lt. Cameron Simper with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives received information that he was last seen walking alone near Millersylvania State Park, just north of where his vehicle was located.
Simper said none of the tips provided indicated that it appeared Davies was injured or was in any distress, but they are still concerned for his welfare.
"We have not received information that Gabriel is in danger, but he is 16 years old and that behavior is not characteristic of him, so we are very concerned, and his family is very concerned as well, so we are taking this very seriously," said Simper.
Investigators have been working with FBI agents to track Davies' cell phone data. Simper said they believe the teen drove to the Tilley Road location at around 5 p.m., with the phone last used at around 5:10 p.m.
Bloodhound tracking teams were working an area of Tilley Road S., near Tenino, all day Thursday looking for the teen.
Davies was last seen wearing blue shorts and a blue and white jersey.
