Shoreline homicide suspect at-large, deputies investigating

Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred near Richmond Highlands Park in Shoreline Friday morning.

According to the King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO), at around 8:30 a.m., officers received a 911 call reporting a shooting near the corner of N. 167th St. and Linden Ave. N in Shoreline.

When deputies arrived, a victim was found with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

Authorities say KCSO's major crimes unit will assist deputies in the investigation. Investigators are not calling it a shooting, let alone a homicide. However, FOX 13 saw the man dead at the scene.

"It’s an unusual circumstance here an unusual homicide it’s a quiet neighborhood," said Sgt. Corbett Ford. "At this time, we don’t have any reason to believe there's any threat to public safety or concern."

Ford did not specify what made the homicide "unusual."

"It’s unusual, really unfortunate and really sad," said Caitlin Rose, who lives two homes away from the crime scene.

She was home at the time but did not hear or see anything, she says. She’s treating the homicide as an unfortunate sign of the times.

"I’m going to find that anywhere," she said.  "Especially as gun laws - are what they are - it’s sad when people get their hands on deadly devices."

"I find it disturbing, but it’s not rocking my boat too much," says Randy Clere, who lives four homes away from the crime scene.

Police have not released any victim or suspect information. While no one has been arrested, it does not appear that there was a manhunt for a suspect when deputies arrived at the scene.

Detectives are still investigating.
