Court docs: School photographer from Federal Way arrested for possessing child porn
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - After a lengthy investigation beginning in January, detectives located and arrested a man for possessing child pornography.
According to court documents, the 35-year-old man from Federal Way is a professional photographer, who takes student photos at many elementary and middle schools in the area.
Court documents say the suspect was employed at Leo's Photography. Police do not believe that the suspect created child pornography in the capacity of his job.
According to the Tacoma Police Department (TPD), detectives served a warrant in Federal Way and arrested the man on four counts of first-degree possessing depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Court documents say the files involved children under the age of 12.
The suspect told detectives that he accesses child pornography "on a weekly basis."
The TPD says the arrest was made possible with the help of the FBI and the Washington State Patrol Missing and Exploited Children Task Force.
The suspect appeared in court on Friday and is facing a $50,000 bond. FOX 13 is not naming the suspect yet since he has not been officially charged.
This is a developing story.
