The American Medical Association is now saying kids should be allowed to bring sunscreen to school.

According to today.com, schools in the U.S. often send home notes to parents telling them to slather their kids before they arrive at school.

They're also told to not let their kids bring it to class.

The AMA wants a sunscreens to be exempt from rules that ban students from bringing over-the-counter medicines to class without a doctor's note.

The group also wants to make it okay for teachers to provide sunscreen to students without requiring them to apply it.

Dr. Alexander Ding, a member of the AMA's board of trustees and chief of fellow in imaging at Massachusetts General Hopsital and Harvard Medical Schools says, "It's a common sense approach -- allowing kids to have sunscreen so they don't get burned."
