Don James remembrances planned at Huskies game against Cal
SEATTLE -- The University of Washington football program will honor legendary coach Don James at Saturday night's game vs. California.
James passed away last Sunday from pancreatic cancer at the age of 80.
James was the UW Huskies head coach from 1975-1992.
He finished his coaching career at UW with a record of 153-58 and two ties in 18 seasons.
He also won six conference titles, a national title and a Rose Bowl.
At Saturday night's game that kicks off at 8 p.m., James family members will serve as honorary captains for the pre-game coin toss.
The Husky Marching Band will perform "A Tribute to The Dawgfather," including a memorial video and former UW football players, during halftime.
The UW players will wear helmet decals for the remainder of the 2013 season.
UW coaches and other sidelines staff will wear a similar patch.
