Flight attendants sue Boeing, make 'toxic' cabin air claims

CHICAGO, Illinois – A group of flight attendants is suing Boeing claiming the company knowing exposed them to ‘toxic’ air inside their plans.

The Chicago Tribune broke the story about the lawsuit Tuesday morning.

According to the Tribune the flight attendants, who worked for Alaska Airlines, claim Boeing’s ‘bleed-air’ system has been problematic for years.

The suit claims the system sucks toxic air into the planes through the engine in order to maintain cabin pressure during flight.

The flight attendants claim defects in the system have meant they were exposed regularly to low levels of toxins.

Specifically they pointed to a 2013 flight when they allegedly became sick from the fumes, even vomiting and passing out as a result.

Boeing has not commented on the lawsuit, but the cpmpany did point to previously released research showing its cabin air to be safe.
