HEARTWARMING: Volunteers help Hospice patient see the outdoors one last time

SNOHOMISH COUNTY -- Evergreen Hospice Volunteers helped one of their patients, a former park ranger, make one final trip to the outdoors.

Ed was living in an adult family home and hadn't been outdoors for several years.

After Ed shared his wish with Hospice staff, they worked with the Snohomish County Fire District to make his wish come true.

One day, volunteers came and picked up Ed and took him to Meadowdale Beach Park in Edmonds.

The volunteers pushed Ed on a gurney up and down the trails of the park -- allowing him to see and smell the place he loved.
