Lake Forest Park holiday light show to benefit the homeless

The Lake Forest Park Light Show Spectacular is turning a holiday light display into a mission to give back.

For the last four years, Jason Bowens and his family have lit up their house for everyone to enjoy. The display started during the pandemic, and they've added more lights and elements every year since.

However, this holiday light display is more than just fun and games, as the Bowens Family also collects donations for Mary's Place.

Mary's Place, a nonprofit, offers safe, inclusive shelter and services for local women, children, and families on their journey out of homelessness.

"It's been great doing this for the community," said Jason Bowens. "We want to make sure Mary's Place gets recognition, I know that they have a lot of people in need, especially with people on the streets...we want to make sure people donate and have a good time watching the show."

In the last few years, the Bowens have hit their $2,000 donation goal. This year, they've upped it to $3,000.

If you want to make a donation, check out the fundraiser page on Facebook.

And don't miss the show at 5030 NE 197th Street in Lake Forest Park! Tune in to 103.1 FM for the full experience.
