SEATTLE - A man who has been on Washington’s Most Wanted list for over eight years is now in jail.
Jerry C. Denson, 36, was taken into custody on April 2 in West Seattle for a vehicular homicide that happened on St. Patrick's Day in 2017.
The backstory:
Denson was placed on the Washington State Patrol's Most Wanted list after he failed to appear in court after a DUI-related crash on I-5 in Kent.

The crash killed 28-year-old Joy Marie Brannon, who was in the back seat Denson’s car when he flipped it on the freeway. Brannon was ejected from Denson's car and struck by other oncoming vehicles, and later died from her injuries.
A blood test showed Denson had been drinking and using marijuana before the crash. A warrant was issued for his arrest in October 2017, but he never turned himself in.
Eight years later, detectives arrested and booked Denson into King County Jail, and he will now face proceedings on the original vehicular homicide charge.
Jerry Denson is arrested in West Seattle on April 2, 2026.
What they're saying:
"No matter how much time passes, we will continue to pursue those who evade accountability for serious crimes," said Trisena Sharff, Captain of the Washington State Patrol’s Criminal Investigative Division. "Today’s arrest is the result of relentless investigative work and strong partnerships, and we hope it brings some measure of justice to the Brannon family."
Denson is also charged with reckless endangerment, and is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
"This tragic crash was not forgotten, and I appreciate the work between the State Patrol and our Special Operations Unit to find and safely apprehend this defendant," King County Prosecutor Leesa Manion said. "Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and this vehicular homicide case will move forward in the courts with our Felony Traffic Unit."
