Man shot in Tacoma drive-by; police investigating



TACOMA -- Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that sent one man to the hospital Friday afternoon in Tacoma.

Authorities said dispatchers received a report of a shooting in the 4500 block of S. Union Street around 1:30 p.m.

One man was shot and taken to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries, police said.

"Today I heard five shots 'boom boom boom boom boom,' and then I came outside and didn't see anything," said said Franchesca Rose at the scene. "But this happens all the time over here, shootings, but I wish it would stop."

No further information was immediately available.
