Man suffers critical injuries to legs in tree-cutting incident in Pierce County

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. -- A 29-year-old suffered critical injuries to his legs Friday during a tree-cutting incident in which a tree gave way and landed on him, West Pierce Fire & Rescue said.

Firefighter/paramedics and EMTs treated the patient and prepared him for transport.

An Airlift Northwest helicopter transported patient to Harborview Medical Center.
