Mentally disabled teen missing from group home
SEATTLE -- The Pierce County Sheriff's Office is investigating the disappearance of a 17 year old mentally disabled girl from a group home in Bonney Lake, said Pierce County Detective Ed Troyer
Maliika Andrus was reported missing Sunday morning from the group home in the 18400 block of South Tapps Drive East,
She was last seen by staff members around 6:20 a.m.
Staff believes Andrus tampered with an alarm on her bedroom window and left the facility at 6:35 a.m.
Detective Troyer said Andrus was recently placed at the group home and is not familiar with the Bonney Lake area.
Search and Rescue teams have combed the area around the group home with search dogs, but have been unable to find Andrus.
Maliika Andrus is a black female, 17 years old, 5'6", 115 Ibs., with black hair worn in braids and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black shirt and multi-colored striped pajama pants.
Andrus has the mental capacity of a 9 year old and reportedly may attempt to harm herself.
