CLALLAM COUNTY, Wash. - Search and rescue teams located a 10-year-old boy who had been missing since Tuesday after he wandered into the woods near Port Angeles.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office shared the update on social media at 1:33 p.m. on Wednesday, posting a photo of rescue teams with the boy, who was safe and sound.
The backstory:
According to deputies, the boy went missing around 4 p.m. after leaving a residence south of Highway 101 near Blue Mountain Road and heading into the woods.
In a press release, the Clallam County Sheriff's Office said the boy was found safe in an outdoor doll playhouse on the front porch of his home. He had likely been avoiding detection from his family and search teams, as the doll house was searched several times prior to his discovery.
