Several injured in 3-car crash on I-90 near Seattle

Multiple people were hurt in a three-car crash Thursday afternoon on Interstate 90 about 5 miles east of the I-5 interchange in Seattle.

Westbound I-90 has reopened in Seattle after a three-car rollover crash blocked all lanes of the freeway Thursday afternoon.

What we know:

The collision happened on westbound I-90 near the southbound I-5 interchange around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Three people were taken to Harborview Medical Center with injuries after the crash, and the freeway was fully blocked for several hours.

A man was charged with second-degree negligent driving, as he allegedly crashed into the back of the car in front of him, which then went forward and hit another vehicle. Washington State Patrol says speed was a factor in the crash, and no drugs or alcohol were involved.

There were three people inside the vehicle that was initially struck from behind, and they were all hospitalized. All three cars involved in the crash were also totaled.
