'Mysterious object' that crashed through Bothell roof identified

BOTHELL -- A mysterious 6-pound object that crashed through a North Bothell home Wednesday morning was identified later as a large debris grinder, city officials said.

The object  crashed through the roof of a home near the intersection of 19th Street and 232nd Avenue, leaving a big hole. Luckily, no one was injured, and no one was home at the time of the incident.

The FAA was initially notified, but police said the object was identified later as a large debris grinder -- not something that dropped from an aircraft. Police said they believe the grinder came from a job site about 1,500 feet from the house that was hit.

A police officer said the object would have easily killed someone had it struck them.
