Police seek missing teen, friend says she messaged "help"
PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. -- Investigators in Port Townsend are looking for a 15-year-old girl, after she sent a concerning message online, then disappeared.
Officer Patrick Fudally said Phoebe McHenry's mother reported her missing around 7:50 p.m. Friday night, when the girl had still not returned from school.
Earlier that afternoon, a friend told police McHenry messaged her the word "help," on Facebook Messenger.
After the friend replied, no more messages were sent.
Detectives said they picked up a "ping" on Phoebe's cell phone in the Marysville area.
Shortly after, the phone was turned off. It hasn't been powered on since.
McHenry was last seen wearing a Seahawks sweatshirt and black pants.
