PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) — A man who escaped from the Clallam County jail over the weekend has been recaptured.

The Clallam County sheriff's office says the Port Angeles Police Department found 26-year-old inmate Anthony Joshua Freitas on Sunday afternoon. His escape lasted just over 24 hours.

Authorities note that the Sequim man was not dangerous and was being held on charges related to property crimes including malicious mischief.

He will be arraigned Monday on an additional charge of escape in the second degree, which is a felony.
