Prosecutors re-file charges in 2002 murder of 18-year-old in Marysville

MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Prosecutors are again filing charges in connection to the 2002 death of an 18-year-old in Marysville.

The Daily Herald reports that prosecutors on Wednesday re-filed the murder charge against Todd Lee Brodahl in the death of Brady Sheary.

Prosecutors have twice dismissed the charge because state doctors found Brodahl was too mentally ill to assist with his defense.

Snohomish County prosecutors have asked for a $500,000 arrest warrant to move Brodahl to the county jail. He's been housed at the state psychiatric hospital for more than a dozen years.

Sheary's body was found in the parking lot of Cedarcrest Middle School in 2002. He had been stabbed and beaten to death.
