Seahawks' Jermaine Kearse returns to Lakewood to 'inspire' students (VIDEO)

LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- A hometown favorite came back to the community to talk to students in Lakewood Tuesday.

Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse spoke to more than 100 students at Clover Park Technical College. The group included about 25 students from his alma mater, Lakes High School.

Kearse talked about the three pillars of his foundation -- working hard, perseverance and believing in yourself.

He said he was just trying "to inspire these kids and help them find what they're passionate about. Help them what they want to do in their future life and be able to help them take those steps to get to those dreams."

Afterward, Kearse shared his competitive side with a friendly game of ping pong. His foundation focuses on helping military families -- and there are many in Lakewood.

Kearse's own father was in the Army.
