Spinouts, jackknifed semi close I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass for several hours
CLE ELUM, Wash. -- Both directions of Interstate 90 were closed for several hours over Snoqualmie Pass Tuesday afternoon after snow caused multiple spinouts.
First, a jackknifed semi blocked all westbound lanes of I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass around 3:00 p.m. Westbound traffic was stopped near Snoqualmie Pass and at Easton and Ellensburg.
At 4:45 p.m., multiple spinouts forced the closure of eastbound lanes of I-90, WSDOT said.
Both directions of I-90 had reopened as of 6:20 p.m. Travelers were experiencing up to an extra hour of travel time over the pass.
Snow and slush was on the road and chains were required on all vehicles except all-wheel drive.
