SR 99 and Mercer street weekend closures

SEATTLE - Getting around Seattle, especially near South Lake Union, may be difficult, depending if you're driving or taking the bus. The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will be shutting down portions of SR 99 and eastbound Mercer street this weekend for construction. The closures are part of the West Phase of the Mercer Corridor Project, SDOT said in a press release.
"This closure...will provide for completion of critical Mercer street widening and SR 99 bridge replacement work to meet an important deadline allowing for construction of the SR 99 Bored Tunnel's North Portal in June of 2014."
SR 99 and eastbound Mercer Street full weekend closure: Saturday, December 14 through Monday, December 16
SR 99 and eastbound Mercer Street will be fully closed to traffic beginning early Saturday morning, December 14 at 3:00 a.m. to Monday, December 16 at 5:00 a.m. for demolition of the western portion of the SR 99 bridge over Mercer Street. During the closure:
