TACOMA, Wash. - Crews responded to an apartment fire in Tacoma on Friday and confirmed that one occupant has died.
The Tacoma Fire Department (TFD) made the initial announcement on social media at 8:26 a.m.
What we know:
According to the TFD, crews responded to an apartment fire near the corner of North Pearl Street and North 11th Street at around 7:21 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, crews immediately searched for the source of the fire and evacuated residents from the building.
As of 9 a.m., crews are still battling the fire and confirmed that one person has died.
