It's unknown what led up to the shooting and police are investigating.
Law enforcement did not release any information on a suspect, including if anyone has been arrested.
Neighbors told FOX 13 that they were unaware of the violence feet from their homes
"It's unnerving to hear that, and to know that no one has, at least, let us know that that happened," said one neighbor who did not want to give their full name.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Federal Way Police Department at 253-835-2121.
This deadly shooting marks the third this year in Federal Way.
The first shooting happened in January at a home on SW 305th Street, near Lake Grove Elementary School. Police reported a son shot his father.
The second shooting happened in February, at the Brickyard Pub. Investigators said an argument turned into a shooting that left a man dead and another woman shot.
