FUGITIVE WANTED IN SEATTLE July 8, 2016 --
Seattle Police detectives say Kristina Hyde is an accused identity thief who’s likely out committing fraud right now. Police say she recently tried to use another woman's name and information to steal her money out of her account. "In this specific case, she went into a bank and she produces identification and she actually names a person who actually has an account at that bank. But, thank God we have a very alert clerk who notices that the ID that was produced is a little thicker than normal and so she electron
ically copies another on-duty clerk who notifies the police,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.
Detectives say Hyde took off before the police could get there, but the witnesses did get a license plate on the vehicle which officers knew belonged to Hyde and her boyfriend. He's already in jail.
King County prosecutors say Hyde was also using a victim's stolen credit card to put money on her boyfriend's books in the jail. Spencer Sandberg was sentenced Friday for Identity Theft and drugs to 37 months in prison and 37 months of Department of Corrections supervision when he is released. Seattle Police have had more than 10 interactions with this duo and say they were actively involved in Illegal drugs (Meth), ID Theft, Fraud, Forgery, Vehicle Theft, Mail Theft, Bike Theft - basically any type of theft you can think of.
Hyde is also accused of stealing a computer and projector worth $1,800 from a classroom at Seattle Pacific University after casing the place by pushing a child in a stroller. Detectives say the photos above show her with her little boy. "She's actually pushing what assumes to be her child in a stroller and now she's out using the child as she's stealing things. A new low. I mean, come on. You're looking at literally hundreds of hours of investigation time,” adds Ret. Det. Carner. “It goes weeks and weeks and weeks. You think she'd get nervous and stop, but ‘no,’ she just continues to do this."
Kristina Hyde is 37 years old, 5'9", with a slim build, blond or strawberry hair that is cut short and blue eyes.
Detectives think she is somewhere in the Queen Anne area of Seattle area.
