Blue Jays force a Game 7 with 6-2 win over Mariners - 7:56 p.m. PT / 10:56 p.m. ET
The Mariners and Blue Jays will play a Game 7 in the ALCS on Monday at Rogers Centre.
Seattle had three fielding errors and grounded into three separate inning-ending double plays in a 6-2 loss on Sunday night that sends the ALCS to a decisive final game.
Toronto scored five runs – four earned – off Seattle starter Logan Gilbert and rode that to a win to extend the series. Meanwhile, the Mariners missed their chances at big innings against Blue Jays starter Trey Yesavage.
Two runs in the sixth inning cut into the Toronto lead, but it was the only offense the Mariners would produce.
A wild pitch, error let Blue Jays add to lead - 7:30 p.m. PT / 10:30 p.m. ET
The Mariners will have two innings to overcome a four-run deficit after the Blue Jays got a run back in the seventh inning with the help of Seattle mistakes.
Matt Brash hit Vladmir Guerrero Jr. with a pitch, and an Alejandro Kirk single put two runners on with one out. A wild pitch with Daulton Varsho at the plate got away from catcher Cal Raleigh, who tried to get the advancing Guerrero at third. Instead, his throw got by Eugenio Suárez into left field as Guerrero scored to make it a 6-2 game.
Brash walked Ernie Clement and Addison Barger to load the bases, but got out of the jam with a fly out to right by Isiah Kiner-Falefa.

Mariners get on the board, trim lead to 5-2 - 7:04 p.m. PT / 10:04 p.m. ET
Josh Naylor crushed a first-pitch splitter left in the middle of the strike zone from Toronto starter Trey Yesavage deep to right field for a solo home run that trimmed the Blue Jays lead to 5-1 in the sixth inning.
Randy Arozarena followed with a single to center off Yesavage that would end his day as manager John Schneider turned to Louis Varland out of the bullpen.
A weak liner from Eugenio Suárez over first base managed to score a sprinting Arozarena all the way from first to make it a 5-2 Toronto lead. Varland then struck out J.P. Crawford to end the sixth, but the Mariners have made it a game again.
Yesavage allowed two runs on six hits with three walks and seven strikeouts over 5 ⅔ innings pitched for Toronto.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. home run gives Blue Jays a 5-0 lead - 6:46 p.m. PT / 9:46 p.m. ET
The Blue Jays have extended their lead once again and ended the start of Logan Gilbert in the fifth inning.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. crushed a solo home run to left field off Gilbert to lead off the fifth inning for a 5-0 Toronto lead. The home run ended Gilbert's night as he allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts over four-plus innings.
Eduard Bazardo entered the game for Gilbert and got out of the inning without further damage for Seattle.
Mariners squander bases loaded again in 4th - 6:23 p.m. PT / 9:23 p.m. ET
Josh Naylor singled to left field and an infield single from Randy Arozarena started a one-out rally against Trey Yesavage in the fourth inning for Seattle. A walk of Eugenio Suárez loaded the bases for the second straight inning, but Yesavage again wiggled out of danger.
J.P. Crawford slapped an 0-2 splitter below the zone to second base for a double play that ended Seattle's threat.
Addison Barger extends Toronto lead to 4-0 - 6:10 p.m. PT / 9:10 p.m. ET
Logan GIlbert was on the verge of a much-needed clean inning after Toronto put a pair of runs on the board in the second inning.
A two-out triple off the wall in left field from Ernie Clement put a runner on before Addison Barger crushed a slider at the bottom of the strike zone from Gilbert into the right field seats for a two-run home run and a 4-0 Toronto lead.
Mariners threaten but come up empty in third - 6:05 p.m. PT / 9:05 p.m. ET
The Mariners were finally able to put pressure on Toronto starter Trey Yesavage in the third inning.
A lead-off walk from J.P. Crawford gave Seattle their first baserunner of the game. Leo Rivas then nearly homered to right field, hitting a ball about four feet shy of a homer off the fence for a long single as Crawford had to hold ahead.
Another walk to Julio Rodríguez loaded the bases with one out with Cal Raleigh coming to the plate. After a mound visit, Raleigh rolled over a first-pitch splitter from Yesavage that he left up in the zone for an inning-ending double play as Toronto escaped without any damage.
Blue Jays take a 2-0 lead in the second inning - 5:48 p.m. / 8:48 p.m. ET
Trey Yesavage is off to a much better start against the Mariners than his Game 2 outing.
Yesavage struck out the side in the second inning as Josh Naylor and Randy Arozarena went down swinging, and Eugenio Suárez went down looking on a fastball at the bottom of the strike zone.
Yesavage has four strikeouts through two innings for Toronto.
A lead-off single from Daulton Varsho to left-center saw Julio Rodríguez bobble the ball to make a challenge at second. After originally being ruled a double, Rodríguez was charged with an error on the play as Varsho advanced to second.
Another error followed as Eugenio Suárez was handcuffed by a hard grounder by Ernie Clement that put two runners on with no outs.
A single to right field by Addison Barger scored Varsho, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa's infield chopper in front of third was enough to score Clement for a 2-0 Blue Jays lead.
Gilbert got Andrés Giménez to strikeout swinging for the first out. A walk to George Springer loaded the bases before another strikeout of Nathan Lukes brought Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to the plate with the bases loaded.
Suárez made up for the earlier error, making a diving stop of a hard grounder from Guerrero that would have scored two more runs to help Gilbert escape the jam without further damage.
Scoreless first inning in Toronto - 5:20 p.m. PT / 8:20 p.m. ET
Unlike Game 2 of the series when Julio Rodríguez jumped on Blue Jays starter Trey Yesavage for a three-run home run and an early lead, the Toronto rookie made it through a clean first inning for the Blue Jays in Game 6.
Rodríguez and Jorge Polanco both had deep fly outs to the outfield around a strikeout of Cal Raleigh for a 1-2-3 first inning for Toronto.
George Springer and Logan Gilbert had a nine-pitch fight in the first at-bat of the game. Eventually, Gilbert won the battle, breaking Springer's bat and getting him to fly out into foul territory down the third baseline. Eugenio Suárez had to avoid the broken bat barrel to make the catch.
A one-out single from Nathan Lukes put a runner on, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr. grounded into a fielder's choice for the second out. A deep fly ball from Alejandro Kirk hit the right field wall just foul before striking out to end the inning.
It did force Gilbert to throw 19 pitches in the opening frame, mainly due to Springer's lengthy at-bat.
Mariners pregame news conference from Rogers Centre - 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET
Game 6 Lineups - 2:30 p.m. PT / 5:30 p.m. ET
Blue Jays designated hitter George Springer is in the lineup for Toronto for Game 6 after leaving Game 5 early after getting hit on his right knee cap with a 95.6 mph sinker from Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo.
"He'll be ready to go. He's a little bit sore. He's got some good seam marks on his knee from that sinker there," Blue Jays manager John Schneider said.
Both teams will have their same lineups in place from Game 5 for a potential series-clinching game for Seattle. Toronto has used the same lineup for each of the last three games. Meanwhile, Seattle bumped Randy Arozarena out of the lead-off spot ahead of Game 5 with Julio Rodríguez moving to the top of the order.
Dominic Canzone remains in the lineup in right field as a left-handed bat against Toronto's right-handed starting pitching. Jorge Polanco is the designated hitter with Leo Rivas still in the lineup at second base.
Eugenio Suárez grand slam carries Seattle Mariners to 6-2 win in Game 5 of ALCS
Eugenio Suárez sent T-Mobile Park into bedlam with an eighth-inning grand slam off Toronto reliever Seranthony Domínguez for a 6-2 win over the Blue Jays that has put the Seattle Mariners one win away from a trip to the World Series.
