Getting hot - Weather Alert Day on Friday
Today through Friday we're warming up to the uncomfortable zone. SeaTac will probably nudge 90 on Friday, with temps climbing into the low/mid 90s to the south and in the Cascade foothills away from Puget Sound. This is potentially unhealthy for some, especially if you don't have air conditioning. Today we begin the warming with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s to the mid/upper 80s.

Warming up this week! We say hello to the upper 80s to low 90s for Western WA.
What a beautiful day we saw around the region. Highs soaring into the upper 60s to low 70s at the coast with 70s and 80s inland. A warming trend is the theme the rest of the week as an upper ridge builds in over the area. This will push some spots into the 90s! So, keep the sunscreen and sunglasses handy!

Winds and 'fire clouds' feed California's largest blaze
Gusts also hindered containment efforts and the problem could get worse with the predicted arrival of pyrocumulus clouds — literally meaning “fire clouds ” — which can bring lightning and the risk of new ignitions.

Seattle this July: Sunnier than Phoenix; drier than Los Angeles
What has been constant for sure around here is that it's been dry, frequently sunny, and rather temperate -- though not quite as cool as some other location that are usually some 25 degrees hotter! It's led to some rather strange reversals on the summer weather scoreboards around the West.
