I found drug tools and needles -- will I get in trouble for turning it in?
Q: I found drug paraphernalia and needles. None of it's mine, but I will I get in trouble for turning it in at a police station? -- Ashley in OlympiaA: "That's a great question and it's an important one, because if you find 'sharps' or needles somewhere, it's obviously very dangerous, especially for kids. The fact is, if you bring someting like that into a police department, you're not going to get in trouble for it, and we understand that you're just trying to do the right thing. At the same time, probably the best way to dispose of it is to call your local police, fire, or hospital, to find out the best way to get rid of 'sharps', syringes, or anything else that might be hazardous or medical waste. That's the best place to get an answer on how to get rid of it and how to transport it." -- Bremerton police Chief Steve Strachan
