U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert recognizes Washington's Most Wanted in Congress
WASHINGTON D.C. -- It was an honor to have U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert honor WMW in front of Congress today. "Mr. Speaker, today I rise to recognize the program Washington's Most Wanted", said the former King County Sheriff. "This television program began in Washington State in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound and Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers in November of 2008 and expanded to Spokane, Yakima, and the Tri-Cities as well as Portland, OR in February of 2009. The weekly half hour telecast was created by Seattle's Q13 FOX General Manager Pam Pearson and hosted by anchor David Rose and has evolved into a state-wide effort to encompass much of the Pacific Northwest region. This month, the program saw its 400th capture. This means that 400 individuals were arrested for such crimes as murder, rape, theft, assault and other travesties. I applaud Washington's Most Wanted for its successful efforts towards creating safer communities and giving a voice to the victims of violent crime."
