1 killed in small plane crash near Arlington

A Bothell man died after crashing a small plane late Thursday in Snohomish County.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the area of N. Cedarvale Loop Road about seven miles northeast of Arlington Municipal Airport.

When deputies arrived, they found the man dead on the scene. The pilot, a 73-year-old Bothell man, was the only person on board.

Investigators are working to determine whether it was the single-engine Odyssey that was reported missing earlier Thursday after departing from Tacoma Narrows Airport for Harvey Field in Snohomish.

It's still unclear what caused the crash; officials say the crash was accidental. The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
