14-year-old passenger killed as car lands upside down in creek
SEABECK — A 14-year-old Seabeck boy was killed Thursday night when the car he was riding in left the road, plunged down a ravine and landed on its roof in a creek.
The single-car collision occurred on Seabeck Holly Road just before 11 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.
Daunte Peterson was pronounced dead at Harrison Medical Center.
The victim, Daunte Peterson, was riding in the car with an 18-year-old and a 21-year-old. After the car went down the ravine and landed on its roof, the men were able to crawl out of the vehicle but Peterson was trapped as the car started filling with water, authorities said.
Fire and medic crews were able to get him out and began performing CPR on the scene, but he later died at the hospital.
