15 Eastern Washington U. students were in Nice during deadly truck attack; all safe
CHENEY, Wash. -- Many of the 15 Eastern Washington University students studying in Nice, France, this summer were at the Bastille Day celebrations Thursday night, but all were reported safe after the deadly truck attack there, EWU President Mary Cullinan said.
"Fifteen Eastern Washington University students are studying in Nice this summer on a faculty-led program through out Office of Global Initiatives (OGI)," Cullinan wrote in a statement. "Many of them were at the celebration when the violence erupted. We are relieved to report that all our students and faculty are safe...
"EWU sends its thoughts to all impacted by this horrific tragedy," she said.
