17-year-old Lakewood boy arrested after 13-year-old shot in face on JBLM property
LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- A 17-year-old who was with two younger teens when a 13-year-old boy was shot in the face on JBLM land has been arrested, police say.
Police have said they believe the shooting was accidental.
The 13-year-old was shot in the face Tuesday after he, his 14-year-old brother and the 17-year-old had sneaked into a wooded area of Joint Base Lewis-McChord with a gun and the firearm discharged, police said.
According to the News Tribune of Tacoma, Lakewood police arrested the 17-year-old boy on suspicion of the shooting, for being a felon in possession of a firearm and on a separate warrant for possession of a deadly weapon. Police offered no details on the boy's prior felony conviction.
