MOUNT VERNON -- A teenage driver was seriously hurt in a high-speed crash Thursday afternoon on I-5.
Troopers say the driver was heading north on I-5 near College Way around 1:30 p.m. when he swerved and struck a tree -- ripping the car in half.
The driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
WSP says speed was likely a factor, but the crash is still under investigation.
No further information was immediately available.
