20-year-old man shot in apparent robbery attempt in Seattle's Central District

SEATTLE -- Two masked assailants shot and wounded a 20-year-old man during an apparent robbery attempt in the Central District Monday, police said.

The man was rushed to Harborview Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the back, police said.

Officers were called to the 100 block of 27th Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. After speaking to the victim, police said, officers believe he may have been the target of a robbery.

The assailants were described by witnesses as two black men, wearing all black clothing and ski masks. They ran from the scene.
