Accused violent purse snatcher bolts after being on WMW -- caught hiding at 'strangers' place

FUGITIVE CAPTURED June 24, 2013 -- Edmonds police say the hunt for Matthew Propst -- who's accused of punching a woman for her purse earlier this month -- ended with his arrest by the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force. The task force figured out Propst was hiding in an apartment in Lakewood -- of someone he didn’t even know. Police say Propst had a friend in Everett call someone in Lakewood, telling them he was coming down to hide out. Lakewood police, Department of Corrections officers, and the U.S. Marshals assigned to the Tacoma office of the Pacific Northwest Violent Offenders Task Force, all assisted in his capture at the complex on Boston Ave. SW. Deputies say Propst knew he was featured this past weekend on Washington’s Most Wanted, which is why he left Snohomish County to hide out in Lakewood   FUGITIVE WANTED IN EDMONDS June 21, 2013-- Edmonds police are searching for ‘2-strike’ felon, Matthew Propst, who’s accused of pounding a woman's face with his fists -- just to steal her purse. Cops say it's the latest violent crime for the ‘armed career criminal’ -- sneaking-up on the woman last week as she sat in a car in an apartment parking lot -- and beating her. Propst has been busted for macing and attacking a homeowner who walked-in on him breaking-in, and for manslaughter -- after shooting and killing a guy.
