Active duty military get free admission to museums
FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Service members and their families have a unique opportunity for the next few months.
Starting Monday through Labor Day, military personnel -- including active duty, National Guard and Reserves -- and their families can get into thousands of museums for free.
It’s a part of the “Blue Star Museum” program in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and American Samoa. More than 2,000 arts, science and history museums are participating in the program giving free admission to military
More than 5 million people are eligible to take advantage of this program. According to the Department of Defense, there are more than 2.2 million active, National Guard and Reserve service members, with more than 3 million family members in the United States.
