Amtrak train slams into semi-truck in Auburn, WA
AUBURN, Wash. - Video from an eyewitness shows a semi-truck destroyed by a passing Amtrak train with 157 passengers aboard in Auburn on Saturday morning.
Timeline:
The truck made a wrong turn and became stuck on the train tracks at the intersection of B St NW and 29th St NW, according to Valley Regional Fire.
At around 10:20 a.m. on Jan. 18, the Amtrak train car hit the truck while the conductor was blowing the train whistle.
So far, no injuries have been reported, according to VRF.
Video obtained by FOX 13 shows the full crash on Saturday morning. There, you can see multiple people running in the moments leading up to the crash as the train's warning whistle blows loudly.
What's next:
The train comes to a stop immediately after the crash. Authorities are still investigating the full circumstances of the crash. It remains unclear if the driver will be ticketed.
