Another large boat sinks in Seattle area
SEATTLE -- A 57-foot luxury yacht sank late Monday night on Lake Washington, the Seattle Times reported.
According to the Times, the yacht sank in in 10 feet of water while docked at Lakewood Moorage at 45000 Lake Washington Blvd. S. Firefighters were called to the scene around 10:20 p.m. and placed oil booms around the boat to contain any oil leaking into the water.
No one was injured. It was unclear what caused the boat to sink. The Coast Guard is investigating the incident.
This is the second large boat to sink in water around Seattle this week, with a 75-foot tug sinking Monday morning near the Ballard Locks. The two incidents are not necessarily connected.
