Beach that closed due to high fecal count reopens
BELLEVUE -- Officials closed the swimming area at Meydenbauer Beach Park on Lake Washington Wednesday morning after high fecal bacteria levels were found in the water. By Wednesday afternoon, the city of Bellevue announced they reopened the swimming area at the beach.
The city closed the swimming area in the 400 block of 98th Street Avenue NE once the Seattle-King County Public Health Department determined unusually high bacteria levels were present in the water. The park remained open.
The source of the bacteria is not known and the city will continue to test and monitor the water.
