Beers with Jesus? Man arrested after breaking into Seattle church with six-pack, police say
SEATTLE – Maybe he was just trying to take communion and couldn’t find the wine?
Seattle police said they arrested a 47-year-old man who broke into a Capitol Hill Church early Monday morning with a six-pack of beer.
The man, who was drunk, told police he thought churches were open 24 hours a day. That did not, however, explain the cut on his hand that police say he sustained while breaking in.
Police were called to the church just after 1 a. m. by somebody who said they saw the man smash a window. They said he was pacing around the altar when they arrived.
Nothing was missing from the church, but the man was booked for investigation of burglary.
