Body found on Bainbridge Island beach
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. -- A body was discovered on the shoreline of Bainbridge Island near the Winslow ferry terminal.
The Kitsap Sun reports that a beach walker found the body at about 2:40 p.m. Tuesday on the shore near Hawley Cove Park.
Bainbridge Island Police Chief Matt Hamner says he couldn't make a preliminary determination of age or sex. The Kitsap Coroner's Office took possession of the body and will identify the person and determine cause and manner of death.
Hamner says detectives documented the area where the body was found and will work with the coroner's office to learn what happened.
