LONG BEACH -- The Long Beach police chief says the body of an 11-year-old girl who was swept out to sea on Thursday has been found.
People walking the beach found the girl's body around 9:30 Saturday morning.
Authorities told FOX 12 Oregon the girl was swimming with her brother at Bolstad Beach Approach when they got caught in a rip current.
Officials rescued the girl's 10-year-old brother from a rip current Thursday afternoon, but could not find the girl.
The Coast Guard, using helicopters and boats, conducted seven hours of searching, covering more than 59-square-miles, the Guard said.
Police said that the family is from Chimacum, Washington.
